Fall family portraits

Most families schedule their family portraits in the fall-- and there are a lot of great reasons for that.

First, great weather!  The air is fresh & cool & inviting ... walking & kicking leaves is fun ... and fall brings us pumpkin spice, cozy nights

and reminds us of how much we like warm cookies fresh from the oven.

Secondly, the colors are gorgeous -- the trees are laden with orange, yellow & red leaves, and the sun glows with beautiful soft warmth.

Here in Redmond, there are so many locations to choose from that  it gets a little ridiculous.  It is absolutely breathtaking here in Eagle Crest;

I love photographing families by the creek, as it has such a lovely curve and many spots show those gorgeous aspens in the background.

Of course, there are tons of areas in Bend, Redmond and Sisters for photographing families, too.

To name a few: Shevlin Park,  Farewell Bend Park, the Cascades lake area, Sisters (anywhere~), Black Butte Ranch, Redmond's Centennial Park

or Sam Johnson Park,  and what about Cline Falls?!  That's only 10 minutes from me and gosh so gorgeous.

And OH!  SMITH ROCK!!!!!

what an amazing backdrop for portraits.  DANG!

I bet you can name at least ten more great spots right now.

Another reason we like fall for family photos: we get to show off our cool fall clothes.  Who doesn't look great in a sweater?  :)

And then of course, it's the timing -- The Great Slide to Christmas:

Labor Day, School, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas.

 boom.  sliding all the way.

And when we think of Christmas, we think of family and we reach out to loved ones near & far. Time to send those holiday cards with family photographs.

SO.   Now's the time to schedule that fall family portrait.  Sweater, anyone?

Kathy Birch - Do you have a price sheet or a rough idea of how you charge and if you’d be available the week after Christmas when my family is here to visit?
